Collective Worship and Religious Education
We hold a daily act of Collective Worship, focusing on a different Christian value each half term. It is important for us to explore and develop these values within all aspects of our school. We maintain strong links with Long Marston’s All Saints Church, and welcome Reverend Otter and the Open the Book team to school regularly each term
Religious education is taught in accordance with the Agreed North Yorkshire Syllabus, which is fully inclusive of all faiths, whilst maintaining a focus on Christianity. For long term planning, please visit the Curriculum page. Where appropriate, we link our main termly curriculum theme with a particular strand of the RE syllabus. On occasions, school services are held in church and visits are made to enhance a particular area of the curriculum.
If parents wish their child to be excused from Religious Education or Collective Worship, they should contact the Headteacher.
